"apostate tendencies". Wow!
The expression serves no purpose other than to add to reasons why a well-meaning and honest JW is ignored by his or her fellows.
i saw a rumor a few weeks ago on reddit that the new imitate jesus convention is supposed to present new light and clarified understandings on the disfellowshipping/disassociation practices.. supposedly, if this rumor has any truth to it, there will be a talk given at the convention about how we should not be strict like the pharisees in how we shun people, loosening up some of the jw rules about this practice.. has anyone here heard anything about this or have more info on it?.

we (and by 'we', i mean my wife) decided that we should try something new and she, erm, i mean 'we', liked the idea of painting.
so i enthusiastically (i.e.
begrudgingly) went along for the night to the "pain nite" event she'd booked us for a couple of weeks ago.. the premise is pretty simple: it's held in a pub or restaurant, all the art supplies are provided, the instructor then walks you through how to reproduce a painting they have chosen for the night and you have a glass of wine or beer, do some painting, have something to eat, have some more wine, more painting, more wine, realize you are drinking the dirty paint water and so on.. here's the site: https://www.paintnite.com/.
the video streaming of the german branch visit program was excrutiating 3.5 hours long.. i just went to see the last 45 min (part of mark sandersons talk).. i think sanderson is quite a sympathetic speaker and he kind of made a loving impression.. he didn't mention controversial stuff (except for one thing i will come to soon).
he mostly talked about how to find joy, even when life is not easy, and how much the gb loves the rank and file.. one point seemed soooo important to him.
parents and children.
“Christ Jesus said: “'Let the young children come to me.' But there is no record that he baptized any young children or commanded that they be baptized.”--The Watchtower, June 1, 1962, p. 330, underlining added.
Watchtower — baptizing young children
The Watchtower organization is fully of lunacy and hypocrisy from top to bottom.

after reading that great post about the june 1 article on science i got to thinking.
although it is great to believe there is this huge group of guys in the jw writing department that are constantly looking to mislead us by twisting the words of scientist etc... i really think it is more likely they are google researchers that do not have the ability to grasp the thoughts that are being expressed in the scientific article they quote mine from.. i honestly believe the reason that this happens is because of the individuals they use to write these magazines.
these are not college educated men.

Lack of adequate training may contribute to misrepresentations found in Watchtower publications but the root cause is, in my opinion, a groping for justification. Take for example Watchtower's misuse of statements made by Bartholomeo Santinelli. The document quoted from is in Latin, so someone inside Watchtower had to have had training sufficient to translate Latin into English and then cherry-pick words from what Santinelli said. It is impossible to have selectively picked what Watchtower writers did of Santinelli's position without realizing it amounted to a wholesale lie. It took training to do what those writers did.
this is from 2011. http://marvinshilmer.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/whistleblower-watchtowers-dump.html.
is there any recent news concerning the toxic waste cleanup?.
i reworded a variation of a common critique of atheists to my own liking.
no, i do not hate atheists, i love them!
they keep me from getting bored.
First, there was nothing. Then, nothing acted upon the nothing and caused nothing to explode. Out of the exploded nothing, came everything and everywhere.
That is wrong on so many levels I wouldn't know where to begin picking it apart; so I won't. It speaks for itself. Screams is more like it.
"First, there was nothing." Wow!
i have a friend who is still in.
this friend is a partaker, but has serious doubts about the org.
this friend wants to stand up as a man, and wants to call wtbts hq.
i am new to this forum - it is only a couple of weeks since i have allowed myself to acknowledge and research my doubts.
i am trying to be fair by reading both sides of the story and considering jw official explanation of confusing matters.
one of the issues i have been looking at is shunning - and i was shocked to see the misleading information about shunning on the jw.org website: .
